A novelty, it is fun, and it does offer you the opportunity to do things you may not otherwise do.
Whether you're looking for something to do over Halloween, or you're just in the mood for a good scare we have you covered. We hear the chorus of Halloween is not an Australian custom, we get it. It is a novelty, it is fun, and it does offer you the opportunity to do things you may not otherwise do.
Here are some spooky date ideas.
1. Do A Zombie Apocalypse Scavenger Hunt or a Pirate Themed Escape Room.
You can make it even more fun by making it a big group date, a great fun opportunity to meet each other’s friends if you haven’t already. If you and your partner are into zombies try a zombie scavenger experience. Pick a cool location, in the middle of your city, a chilled restaurant or bar district, download an app and work together to do your best to live through a Zombie Apocalypse. You will have lots of laughs, opportunities to work together and some spooky moments trying to outrun those pesky zombies.
If you would prefer to keep it indoors there is always Escape Rooms. Escape Hunt are located all over the world. The one in Brisbane has a Blackbeard’s Treasure Hunt so you could have a Pirate themed Halloween. Blackbeard is dead, his loot lies unguarded. Sink or swim? It’s up to you. It will be 60mins of lots of laughs and teamwork to add variety to your week. Another great group date and then you can all head out for a meal and a few more laughs.
Both ideas are fun dates that will definitely something that can bring you all closer together.
2. Host A Halloween Party
Planning a party can be a bit tricky and stressful we hear you but it is a fun test your teamwork skills as a couple. Use your combined creativity and social skills to host a 'killer' Halloween-themed party. You can keep it traditional and just have a costume dinner party, make it themed or if you are into games why not make it a host a murder party. Whatever you choose you and your guests will have a spooky, fun time.
3. Go To An Amusement Park Or Carnival With Special Halloween Events
During the Halloween season, major amusement parks will go all-out with decorations, treats, and night-time events. In southeast SQLD we are lucky that we have multiple theme parks just down the highway that host Halloween themed nights. Some are scarier than others so be sure to gauge how ‘scare’ tolerant your partner is before you buy your tickets.
Lots of fun to be had on a Spring Evening in QLD and you can make it as thrilling or as snuggled up close as you like. Maybe not the greatest idea for a first date but for those more seasoned couples it may be a great way to shake things up.
4. Have A Sunset Picnic In The Cemetery
If you're looking to do something intimate, get some tasty takeaway or bake some treats and have a romantic picnic in a spooky location like a cemetery. Watching the sun go down as you both sit on a blanket together among the dearly departed is not only eerily romantic but allows you both to get close without anyone around. Check your local cemetery’s website, maybe the local councils to check that it is allowed in your area.
An alternative to the cemetery if that is a step too far or not allowed in your area could be to have a night time picnic somewhere secluded. Talk to your partner about a picnic in the middle of the forest with only the light of the moon shining down on you can be the spookiest.
5. Go On A Ghost Hunt
If you've always wanted to be a Ghostbuster try a ghost tour. Many local cemetery host ghost tours and there are many spooky locations around the country that also host ghost tours. An extreme experience, such as a very scary movie can get you up close and personal in each other’s arms, it can forge a bond between you both, get the adrenaline in a hurry and is a great topic of conversation for weeks afterward, not something you are likely to forget in a hurry.
Halloween may only be in the growing stages in Australia but it is a fun way to add variety to your date night. Spooky dates can be a lot of fun, and it can bring you and your partner closer together. There are so many different things you can get up to over Halloween. These are just a start, let your imagination conjure up some magic the Halloween.
For those after something a little more, you could always check out clubs in your area and see what parties they are hosting.
