How To Store And Clean Silicone Sex Toys

Most toys we sell are silicone toys. Silicone is possibly the best material for sex toys because it is durable and easy to clean. Silicone is non-porous material, so there are a few ways you can clean it unless the product instructions tell you otherwise.

The most common cleaning method is with basic unscented soap and water. Give it a thorough clean, then after, use a damp cloth to wipe it down. Sometimes Silicone toys have other materials in the design so you may need to adjust your cleaning method. It is important to check the waterproof level e.g. Splash-proof vs IPX7 Waterproof. This will tell you if you can submerge your toy in water or not when you clean it.

Storing your silicone sex toys, it is best if you try to keep them separate from your other pleasure products by placing them inside the original box, a bag, a purse or a container. Although silicone toys can technically be stored together it’s safer to keep them in separate bags or containers.

An important note do not use Silicone Lube with Silicone toys. Use a Water-Based Lubricant to prevent your favourite from degrading. If you prefer and oil-based lubricant that is OK it is safe to use with silicone toys.

ABS sex toys are quite simple to clean with their non-porous properties… soap and water will do the trick. If your ABS sex toy has a polyurethane coat, don’t use alcohol for cleaning. They’re also compatible with all kinds of lubricants. It is important to store your ABS toys away from extreme heat, as ABS is a thermoplastic.

If your sex toy is made from Pyrex glass, you could put it in the dishwasher. You can use any kind of lubricant with them like Uberlube Silicone Lubricant. Store your toy in a nice cushy pouch to protect it from cracks or chips.

How To Store And Clean Stainless Steel Sex Toys

Stainless steel sex toys can be used with any kind of lubricant, and they’re so easy to clean. Stainless steel is non-porous, which means there are a few different ways of cleaning them. You can choose to use soap and water or simply put into boiling water then use a damp cloth to pat it dry. You can also choose to use an antibacterial sex toy cleaner. Don’t use abrasive items to clean your stainless-steel sex toys and for best storage, keep it inside a pouch, box, or container, preferably away from light, heat, and extreme cold.

How To Store And Clean TPR, PVC, Jelly, Rubber & Latex Sex Toys

You won’t find many if any toys made from these materials, but it is important to share the information in case any of our customers have toys made from TPR, PVC, jelly, rubber, and latex materials tucked away. TPR, PVC, jelly, rubber, and latex material is porous, you need to deep clean after every use. This is because the porosity of the material runs the risk of trapping bacteria and forming mildew, which is harmful for the body. We suggest using a condom with a porous sex toy to be safe.

You need to be careful with storage of any TPR sex toys, store them in a cool and dry place because they are known to melt in heat.

Cleaning TPR, PVC, jelly, rubber, and latex sex toys, wash well with unscented antibacterial soap and water. We suggest storing it inside the box it came in, in a sealable casing, or a container that’s enclosed and washable. For extra clean you can use a suitable sex toy cleaner for rubber and latex toys. Water based lubricant is the best option here. Don’t store any toys of these materials in a place where they’re touching silicone toys.

It is important for your pleasure and sexual wellness that you keep, clean and store your sex toys in accordance with the manufactures instructions.
